Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

If you have got a specific question about performing a particular task, you might find the answer below.

Q: How do I log in to gain access to the upload section of the test rounds?

Answer: You can find the "Login"-button in the upper right corner of the website near the PTB logo. After you click the button you will be prompted to enter the name of your user account (e.g. PTBExPTS-03) and the corresponding password, which you should change after receiving your initial password from the coordinator. Make sure Java Script is enabled in your web browser.

Q: How do I change my password?

Answer: If you want to change your password you can use the "Forgot / change password" link below the login form, which you can reach via the "Login"-button in the upper right corner of the website near the PTB logo. You will be prompted to enter the email address which is connected to your login data.

After clicking on "Reset password" or pressing "Enter" you will be sent an email that contains a link. Once you open that link in your webbrowser you will be asked to enter a new password twice to make sure there are no typos. When you are done entering the password click on the "Change your password"-button or press enter "Enter". After that you should be able to login with your new password.

If this procedure somehow didn't work for you, please go to the page "Contact persons" and get in touch with any of the people listed there.

Q: I have forgotten my password, what do I do now?

Answer: There is a link below the login form which says “Forgot / change password”. After following that link you will be prompted to enter your email address. This has to be the same address that is connected to your login data. An email will be sent to this address, containing a link. This link redirects you to the website where you can enter a new password. To avoid any misspellings you have to enter the new password twice. You can then immediately log in with your new password.

If that procedure didn’t work for some reason, please go to the page "Contact persons". Contact any of our contact persons to notify them.

Q: How do I upload a test protocol?

Answer: Make sure you are logged in, then go to the page for the particular test round your file is associated with, by first going to the programs overview section of the website and then clicking the according program. In case there is more than one test round you can get to the individual test rounds by clicking the according link in the table on the left. On the bottom right you can see the list of files already uploaded by your lab. Below the file list, you will find an input field with an attached button labeled “Browse” (if you are using a non-english webbrowser it might be translated to the language of your browser). By clicking the button you get a file dialogue, where you can choose the specific file you want to upload. Then press the button labeled “Submit” or abort the process by clicking the “Reset”-Button. After the upload has finished your file should appear in the download list.

Q: I’m not sure whether I already uploaded a certain protocol or if I missed filling out some values. What can I do?

Answer: All files you uploaded so far can be found in the download list on the subpage for the particular test round, so you can download them to check whatever files you have uploaded so far. You can get there by clicking "programs" in the main navigation, then choose the according program. In case there is more than one test round you can get to the individual test rounds by clicking the according link in the table on the left. If you notice that some values were missing when you uploaded the protocol, you can upload a new version. Overwriting protocols is not possible to prevent changing values of measurements already taken.
